Already a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with an established background in biology and art, Dr. Moore decided to take on the challenge of dental school. It was widely understood by his peers and professors that he would rise straight to the top of his field.
In dental school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, his senior task was to work on 12 dental crowns and dental bridges. Dr. Moore completed 65, a record that remains unbroken to this day. His passion for dentistry lives on in the patients he’s helped feel better and more confident over the last three-plus decades at Cosmetic Dental Associates.

John Moore, DDS started as a research assistant and teaching assistant at the University of Colorado and University of Texas. He moved on to become a Clinical Instructor and Assistant Professor of Dentistry at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. There he taught dental anatomy, restorative dentistry, and clinical dentistry for 10 years (1978-1989). In addition to teaching, he has lectured both nationally and internationally (at UTHSC, TDA meetings, and the Mexican Academy of Prosthodontics).
Through the years, Dr. Moore has written and illustrated numerous published articles. He has also created many educational recordings for use in training dentists at the University of Texas dental school.
In his work with San Antonio orthodontics, Dr. Moore has developed a groundbreaking method of combining Invisalign® clear aligners and porcelain veneers in a system to correct major jaw and tooth alignment problems. He has successfully applied this method to treat patients who otherwise would have required years of metal braces and surgery to cut their jaws apart and realign them. Dr. Moore is presenting a successfully completed Invisalign® case to an audience of approximately 1,000 dentists, orthodontists and other dental professionals at the Invisalign® Summit. Invisalign® has invited Dr. Moore twice to share challenging cases with fellow dentists and orthodontists.
