The Invisalign Orthodontic Process
1) Is Invisalign right for me?
The first and most important step of the process is to make sure that Invisalign braces are right for you. There are a number of myths about what Invisalign can and can’t accomplish compared to traditional braces, so it is best to separate truth from fiction by understanding the benefits of Invisalign clear braces.
Many of the patients coming through our office have been told they are not a candidate for Invisalign invisible braces or that Invisalign won’t work on them by dentists and orthodontic professionals who straighten teeth but are not comfortable or experienced with Invisalign. However, we’re ready to sit down with you at our San Antonio dentist office and discuss how Invisalign and cosmetic dentistry can work for you.
We have seen it all when it comes to teeth straightening, and we have found that Invisalign can correct almost every case we have seen.
2) How does Invisalign work?
Following your consultation at our San Antonio Invisalign office, we will create a mold of your teeth, from which the Invisalign clear aligners will be formed. Dr. John Moore, the San Antonio Invisalign providing dentist highest rated by Invisalign themselves, will be overseeing your treatment.
The Invisalign clear braces will gently push against your teeth, moving them until they have straightened to perfection. You will be asked to make follow-up visits so that we can create new aligners approximately every two weeks. This is to adjust the pressure placed against the teeth. The foundation of the teeth straightening process lies in the appropriate amount and direction of pressure applied to the teeth.
3) Why choose Invisalign?
Many patients choose San Antonio Invisalign clear braces because it helps create the smile they dream of without attracting the attention of family, friends, business customers, or co-workers. Some patients choose Invisalign because the aligners are comfortable and can be easily removed to allow functions such as eating, and brushing your teeth remains unchanged from the daily regimen.
The most important reason to choose Invisalign braces however, is ultimately because its features are most comfortable for you. See some of our San Antonio Invisalign success stories and find out what our dentist using Invisalign in San Antonio, like Dr. John Moore DDS, can do for you.

Invisalign Myths
Invisalign clear braces will take longer
In many cases Invisalign clear braces finish faster than traditional braces. This is because aligners are replaced every two weeks making it the equivalent of a traditional orthodontic appointment every two weeks. Typically braces are spaced every 4 to 6 weeks for their adjustments. In one year you can effectively have 26 orthodontic adjustments with Invisalign, whereas with braces you will probably get only 10 adjustments per year.
Invisalign clear braces are not possible
Several patients have arrived in our office and have been told that Invisalign will not work for them; however, many of these patients have received results from Invisalign. It is best to seek a second opinion when told Invisalign won’t work. Experienced Invisalign dentists, such as Dr. John Moore, DDS, can correct cases requiring tooth alignment and bite correction using Invisalign.
Invisalign clear braces costs more
In our office, traditional braces and Invisalign cost the same and in some cases is less. Prices can vary depending on the experience of the cosmetic dentist. A less experienced cosmetic dentist may charge less than an experienced one.
Invisalign clear braces don’t work as well
The number one cause of Invisalign failure has been traced back to patient non-compliance, such as not wearing the aligners for the required amount of time. In fact, this is such a common occurrence that Invisalign developed a sensing system that is placed on the aligners that tells Dr. John Moore, DDS how often the patient has been wearing the clear aligners.
Losing the Invisalign clear braces trays is a problem
For those that can’t seem to keep track of things, our Invisalign office in San Antonio will replace as many as 6 aligners at no charge to the patient. In fact even if you lose one the treatment is usually not compromised at all because we simply move to the next aligner possibly making the treatment that much faster! Plus, we have never heard of any braces treatment coming with a set of 4 pairs of retainers. All of our Invisalign systems come with 4 retainers because we want the patient to maintain their beautiful, straight smile after completing their Invisalign treatment in San Antonio.
Certain types of bites cannot be fixed with Invisalign clear braces
There are thousands of documented severe overbite and underbite cases corrected now with Invisalign. There are even orthodontic surgical cases and movement of impacted teeth (buried in the gums and bone) that have been corrected as well as any traditional braces can.
