John A. Moore – DDS
Since Dr. John Moore’s undergraduate years, he has always excelled in his work and strives to be the best dentist in San Antonio. Dr. John Moore, DDS received his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Texas in 1977, and then went on to receive a Doctorate degree from the University of Health Science Center San Antonio in 1981. In dental school, Dr. Moore’s professors discovered he was a unique student because he went above and beyond the requirements. His final task as a senior was to work on 12 crowns and bridges. Dr. Moore went above the required amount and completed work on 65 dental crowns and bridges; a record that has yet to be broken.
Dr. John Moore, DDS, a San Antonio orthodontics expert, started as a research assistant and teaching assistant at the University of Colorado and University of Texas. He moved on to Clinical Instructor and the Assistant Professor of Dentistry at The University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio, where he taught dental anatomy, restorative dentistry and clinical dentistry for 10 years. In addition to teaching, he has lectured both nationally and internationally for more than 25 years. In dental school, Dr. Moore was a Senior Clinical Consultant and has delivered numerous dental continuing education courses at both the UTHSC Dental School and Texas Dental Association conventions. Dr. Moore has many certificates and awards in cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, occlusal rehabilitation, Invisalign, Lumineers, computerized dentistry, prosthodontics, dental laboratory technology and ceramics. He has been practicing cosmetic dentistry in San Antonio for over 25 years.
Dr. John Moore, DDS has been voted into America’s Top Dentists in Cosmetic Dentistry and honored as the Best San Antonio Cosmetic Dentist. He has also received the DENTSPLY International Merit Award and has been recognized for outstanding achievement by the Southwest Society of Prosthodontists, The University of Texas Health Science Center and Mexican Academy of Prosthodontics. In addition to being recognized as one of the very few Invisalign Elite Providers nationally he has been awarded the Outstanding Case Presentation Award for his contribution to the prestigious 2009 International Invisalign Summit.
Through the years Dr. Moore has written and illustrated numerous published articles. In addition, he has created numerous educational recordings for use in the training of dentists at the University of Texas-Dental School. Dr. John Moore, DDS is a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, San Antonio District Dental Society, Dental Honor Society – Omieron Kappa Upsilon, Clinical Foundation of Orthopedics and Orthodontics and an Honorary Member of the Mexican Academy of Prosthodontists.
In his work with San Antonio orthodontics, Dr. Moore has developed a groundbreaking method of combining Invisalign invisible braces and porcelain veneers in a system to correct major jaw and tooth alignment problems. He has successfully applied this method to treat patients that otherwise would have required years of metal braces and surgery to cut their jaws apart and realign them.
Beyond his achievements in dentistry, Dr. Moore and his wife, Carol, are active humanitarians who have received recognition from the Citizens Commission on Human Rights, National Humane Education Society and International Fund for Animal Welfare, just to name a few. Dr. Moore has also been a contributing member of Texas Dentists for Healthy Smiles, donating over $21,000.00 in dental care to underprivileged people of San Antonio since 2001.
Dr. John Moore, DDS and his wife, Carol, reside in San Antonio and together have three children: Johnny, Jason and Lauren, and two grandchildren: Delaney and Kinley. When away from the office, Dr. Moore likes collecting, engineering, and competitively racing cars. He also enjoys illustrating, painting, skiing and outdoor adventure sports when it is time to get out.
