Cosmetic Dental Associates will be hitting the streets along with numerous participants in the Walk to Cure Diabetes.
CDA will be joining the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at the Alamodome on October 17th, 2009, in an effort to increase awareness about the benefits of a good dental health routine while raising money for research.
The 5K walk begins at 9:30 a.m. in downtown San Antonio.
This is an important cause for CDA because many of our patients and their families are affected by diabetes. Dental health is often over looked when considering positive habits for people with diabetes. Diabetes is commonly misunderstood and considered a controllable disease, but the truth is people with diabetes are prone to numerous health problems including gum disease and poor healing of oral tissue.
CDA staff has signed up to participate in the walk and raise money for the event. Patients are encouraged to join our team to bring CDA and their patients together for the first time outside of the chair. No fluoride treatments-just good exercise and a good cause.
Visit http://walk.jdrf.org to join or donate to the Cosmetic Dental Associates’ team. Registration for the event begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Alamodome, located at 100 Montana St. For more information contact Megan Casey at (210)-822-5336, ext. 15.
