The CEREC Procedure
The CEREC procedure uses a special camera to take digital impression of a tooth to prepare for a dental restoration. The image produced from this camera is then displayed on a computer where we use CAD technology to design a new tooth restoration.
From here, our in-house milling machine takes over using the latest in CAM technology. A small porcelain block is placed into the milling machine and is then milled appropriately to create the restoration. All this is done in a single appointment while the patient is still in the chair. Finally the restoration is bonded to the surface of the old tooth and the dental restoration process is completed.
